About
Kingsand and Cawsand are twin villages on the Rame Peninsula in south-east Cornwall, facing east across Plymouth Sound into Plymouth Harbour. The anchorage in the bay between the two villages offers good holding in offshore conditions and is a popular first stop for boats arriving at Plymouth from the west or departing for the French coast. The villages are accessible by passenger ferry from Plymouth and have retained a quiet, unspoilt character despite their proximity to the city. The Rame Head headland to the south is one of the most dramatic viewpoints on the south Cornish coast.
