Our mission
Finding a berth should be as easy as booking a hotel room.
BerthFinder is building the world's marina marketplace — the global directory every boater uses to find a berth, and the demand-intelligence platform every marina pays to be on.
Why we built this
Finding a berth used to mean five separate Google searches, a stack of phone calls, and hoping someone at a marina picks up the phone in September. There was no single place to search across countries, compare facilities, or check whether your boat would actually fit.
BerthFinder changes that. We have built the most comprehensive marina database in the world — 22,000+ marinas across 220 countries — and made it free for every boater to search. Plan your cruise, check your boat's dimensions against what's available, and enquire directly to marinas in a single click. No middlemen. No commission. No paywalls.
How it works
Boaters search free
Every marina on the platform is free to discover. Filter by country, facilities, LOA and draught. No account required.
Enquiries go direct
Your message goes straight to the marina. BerthFinder never sits between you and your berth. No commission, ever.
Marinas get found
Operators subscribe to manage their listings, respond to enquiries, and see real demand data from boaters planning routes through their area.
What we are not
Not a booking platform
We connect you with marinas — the marina sets availability, pricing and terms. We stay out of it.
Not a commission business
We charge marinas a fair, flat subscription. Your enquiry costs you nothing and costs the marina nothing extra.
Not paywalled
Every listing is visible to every boater, free. Operators subscribe to manage and promote their listing — not to appear at all.
Who's behind it
Duncan Wilde
Founder, BerthFinder · London
BerthFinder was founded by Duncan Wilde, a former editor at Yachting World and Motor Boating & Yachting with 15+ years in the marine industry. Duncan has spoken directly to hundreds of marina operators — from superyacht marinas in Antibes to small harbours in North Devon — and built BerthFinder to solve the problem he kept hearing about on both sides: boaters can't find berths easily, and marinas can't find boaters.
The business is deliberately lean by design — using AI and automation to run the back office. That cost structure is what lets us keep the platform free for boaters and competitive for marinas. We're in this for the long term.
